Storyteller Geert Hautekiet

"WHETHER HE DRAWS, SINGS, OR TALKS, IN EVERYTHING GEERT BREATHES STORIES."

That is how singer Bram Vermeulen —a fine storyteller himself, mind you—once described me when we worked together, and he added: "That is usually with a slightly juicy Antwerp accent, even when he speaks English."

It is true. When I speak English, I usually sound more distinctly Antwerpian than in Dutch. That is also why I have always told stories and sung in my own mother tongue, the way I speak. I have toured, sung, or played music with Maarten Van Roozendaal, Bram Vermeulen, André Manuel, Raymond van het Groenewoud, KommilFoo, and others. I have created solo musical narratives in the most bizarre locations (in a working fountain, under a castle, among the dunes...) .

Due to circumstances, I haven't made music for a long time, but blood is thicker than water. There are new songs, and several more are on the way. And I'm going to play again too. As a duo, with a top musician.

My stories are getting time and space again, too. With Radio KAIET!, I am launching a podcast in 2027: featuring revamped old and sparkling new stories, tales, and fabrications. Can't wait.

With my warm voice, I want to guide families during their farewell ceremony wherever possible, letting them tell *their* stories during their second-to-last .
