The man who is full of himself

I find 'walking beside your shoes' to be a beautiful Dutch idiom. This is a design drawing, made during the creation of the automaton 'the man who walks beside his shoes'.

My cleaning lady is Nepalese; we have known each other for a very long time. She speaks Dutch, but lacks vocabulary. So she doesn't know the saying 'walking beside your shoes'. When I showed her the automaton, I asked what she saw. She said in English: "Someone who is very sure of himself." Look, my mission turned out to be successful ;-) Even without the title, the work was clear.
